GKCBP is a dedicated capacitor bank protection control and relay panel perfectly aligned for protection, control, measurement, and supervision of the 25kV and 2x25kV shunt capacitor bank systems.

Shunt capacitor banks are mainly installed to provide capacitive reactive compensation and power factor correction. Its installation has other beneficial effects on the system, such as improvement of the voltage at the load, better voltage regulation, reduction of losses, and reduction or postponement of investments in transmission. 

With a whole bunch of electrical equipment, such as numerical relays, electro-mechanical relays, an annoyator, indication Indication Lamps, push buttons, semaphores, and blocks, it serves as a protection house for the capacitor banks. It also offers integration with numerical relays operating on IEC 60870-5-103 and IEC 61850 while providing a single interface point for SCADA communication.
